Course Overview:
A requirement in the Higher Education/Enrollment Management Certificate Program, this course provides a framework for the analysis of contemporary issues affecting higher education. Main points covered will be analysis, conceptual treatment, and application of the knowledge acquired in the field. Students will be engaged in discussing the merits of a chosen point of view in their analysis; developing a philosophical position regarding the issue analyzed; evaluating current literature on the issue; writing a persuasive research paper related to the issue. The goal of this course is to offer a grasp of themes throughout the literature as they relate to the issues discussed in the seminar.
